Best Management Practices Based on 36-Years of Experience

The world is a nail in the eyes of a carpenter - at Kevcor we put the right tools in the hands of skilled professionals for a world where no one tool solves the complexity of modern day challenges.

The Meaning of Standards Applied to Business

"This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein; for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success." Joshua 1:8

Kevcor has developed, documented, implemented and continuously improved standardized operating procedures and management protocols over the course of its 36-years of hands-on working experience in a single industry. Our operating procedures embrace the spectrum of business, financial, legal, contractual, technical, and managerial principles into 3-volumes aimed squarely at engineering and construction:

  • Safety
  • Project Management and Controls
  • Claims Management

The essential role of our standards is to continuously train and develop personnel, follow ISO practices towards continuous improvement of our services, prequalify vendors, and assist our client in realizing long-term, self-sustaining success.

Personnel advancement at Kevcor is based on knowledge, time-in-grade, sustained proficiency working from our standards successfully with our clients, and a consistent safety record. Our strategic vendors are prequalified from our standards which include financial capabilities. There are normal market conditions that dictate we work with vendors who we would not typically prequalify, and where are standards focus on controls.

Safety is first at Kevcor. Its a culture. One of our solutions is design / build and this involves engaging trade personnel. Requisite to working for Kevcor are certifications, experience and proven track-record. Each Kevcor trade personnel carries wallet sized documentation, what we call a trade-card, which identifies the individual and their certified qualifications contained in their employee-jacket for the work they are performing. This documentation is kept with employees at all times on the job, and through our safety command and control structure we regularly audit compliance. We motivate safety through leadership, culture, training, rewards and penalties. All professionals are licensed for the roles that they are assigned. Our safety operating procedures, practices and training programs consist of corporate, trade and site safety manuals that are coordinated with one another and conform with OSHA and EM-385.

Our claims management manual and operating procedures are proprietary. We use this manual internally to train, develop and systematically improve the effect of a team's ability to recover exposure often distressing a contract or business unit. These procedures and protocols script highly-effective methods needed to plan, define, bid, buy, contract for, and control the complex activities involved in affirming or defending claims. Kevcor has extensive experience on both sides of the issues, and this is an integral tool used during our work-out and turn-around services. We are acutely skilled in the FAR and Miller Act.

We find that our project management and control operating standards add value to our client's organizations in one of two ways. More commonly we collaborate our standards and practices with those of client, drawing together best management practices toward excellence of the team. Alternatively we have adapted our standards to the unique circumstances of our client where no such standards exist, coordinating and facilitating management buy-in and support while following-through with training, monitoring, and documentation of the team's growth and proficiency with excellence through ISO practices. In either case the value added to our clients is long-term, self-sustaining success.
